Advocate Sports Star of the Year
The 2010 Awards were held on Thursday evening and big congratulations to winner, Luke O'Garey (surf lifesaving). I was a top ten finalist. The night was throughly enjoyable and listening to Australian Netball Captain, Sharelle McMahon was an inspiring experience.

Tassie Winter
Well I can't complain so far about winter, although it's cold there have been some beautiful days for riding and running..... let's hope it continues!

5th at Busso
In a "quick" trip over to WA for the weekend I finished 5th at the Busselton Half Ironman. The race was always going to be challenging, having finished 3rd at the Australian Ironman only 5 weeks prior.
I had a slow start in the swim but rode well to come off the bike in equal second place. The run was then one of mixed emotions, starting well but fading in the second half, to be overtaken by some girls who were running strongly. I came across the line in 4 hours 32 minutes in fifth place.
I'm not sure if I was fighting something off at the time but I now have an awful cold so I'm going to have a bit of a break and then plan some more events!

Tasmanian Series
The fourth and final race of the Tasmanian Series was held on the weekend. I won my third race and took out the series title. It's now just over a week until Ironman Australia....can't wait!

Tasmanian Champion

I had a much more successful day at the Tasmanian Olympic Distance Championships and round 3 of the state series on Sunday. It was a wet day on a challenging course but I felt strong, fast and didn't experience any technical difficulties. I finished the 1500m swim, 40km cycle and 10km run in a touch over 2 hours and 14 minutes as first female and 10th overall.
I was also notified yesterday that I am a finalist in the TIS Tasmanian Sports Awards, Tasmania's most prestigious sports awards, which will be announced on Friday 12th March.
Training for Ironman Australia is going well and the next three weeks will be long and hard in the build up to my main race for the season.
